This recipe for delicious shortbread is unbelievably easy. I searched the internet and found this on another recipe site, but it's the best shortbread I have ever tasted. I hope you all enjoy it as much as my family and I do.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound unsalted butter (4 sticks)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt

How To Make scottish shortbread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 f
  • Step 2
    Cream butter and sugar with a mixer.
  • Step 3
    Add flour and salt and mix with a wooden spoon. Use hands to make sure all the ingredients are incorporated.
  • Step 4
    Press dough into an ungreased 10x15 inch jelly roll pan. Prick all over with a fork, making sure the fork hits the pan and the pricks are close together. Sprinkle liberally with sugar.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 10 minutes at 350 f. Reduce heat to 300 f, and bake for approximately 40 minutes more.
  • Step 6
    Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then cut into finger sized bars. Allow to cool completely before removing.
