This recipe for delicious shortbread is unbelievably easy. I searched the internet and found this on another recipe site, but it's the best shortbread I have ever tasted. I hope you all enjoy it as much as my family and I do.

Ingredients

1 lb
unsalted butter (4 sticks)
1 c
white sugar
4 1/2 c
all-purpose flour
1 pinch
salt

How to Make Scottish Shortbread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 f
  • 2Cream butter and sugar with a mixer.
  • 3Add flour and salt and mix with a wooden spoon. Use hands to make sure all the ingredients are incorporated.
  • 4Press dough into an ungreased 10x15 inch jelly roll pan. Prick all over with a fork, making sure the fork hits the pan and the pricks are close together. Sprinkle liberally with sugar.
  • 5Bake for 10 minutes at 350 f. Reduce heat to 300 f, and bake for approximately 40 minutes more.
  • 6Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then cut into finger sized bars. Allow to cool completely before removing.
