Ingredients
- 1/2 pound butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 tablespoons farina
- 2-1/2 cup flour
How To Make scotland's traditional new year cookie

Step 1Mix the first two ingredients. Add farina, then add flour gradually also making into a firm dough.

Step 2Knead dough til firm and roll into a ball (can refrigerate prior to rolling).

Step 3Cut ball into 4 and roll into logs. Slice and put on a buttered cookiesheet 2 inches apart. Pierce with a fork and bake at 250-300 degrees until slightly colored. Sprinkle with sugar whilst cooling.
