My mom always made these when I was growing up. I have no idea where the recipe came from, but everyone loves them. They're very simple and yummy.
My family always digs into them before they're cool so we tend to eat lots of crumbs instead of bars, which is just fine with us.

Add to Grocery List

  • 1/2 c
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder

How to Make Scotch Teas

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  3. Add brown sugar and stir to combine.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in oats, salt and baking powder.
  5. Put mixture into 8"x8" baking pan. Press it down lightly.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. (They need to cool a little before cutting, but as soon as they're removed from the oven, be sure to go around the side edges of the pan with a knife so they don't stick to the side as it cools.)
