My mom always made these when I was growing up. I have no idea where the recipe came from, but everyone loves them. They're very simple and yummy. My family always digs into them before they're cool so we tend to eat lots of crumbs instead of bars, which is just fine with us.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
How To Make scotch teas

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.

Step 3Add brown sugar and stir to combine.

Step 4Remove from heat and stir in oats, salt and baking powder.

Step 5Put mixture into 8"x8" baking pan. Press it down lightly.

Step 6Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Step 7(They need to cool a little before cutting, but as soon as they're removed from the oven, be sure to go around the side edges of the pan with a knife so they don't stick to the side as it cools.)
