Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make scotch shortbread

  • Step 1
    Beat butter until soft.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar and almond extract and beat until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Add flour and salt, and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Press dough evenly in 11 x 7 x 2-inch pan and mark in 1-1/2 inch squares with a fork.
  • Step 5
    Bake in 375 degree oven 25 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Cut along markings while hot and cool in pan.
