Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter softened
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 24 ounces jumbo semi sweet chocolate chips
- 30 - caramels (cut into 4 pieces)
- 6 ounces chopped walnuts (if desired)
- - coarse sea salt

Step 1Sift together Cake flour, all purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt Use a mixer and cream butter, brown sugar and sugar together until fluffy Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time

Step 2Reduce speed to low and add dry ingredients and mix until just combined Stir in chocolate chips, caramels and walnuts ( I put all in a big bowl and mix together before adding to the batter) Press plastic wrap onto the dough in the bowl and refrigerate for an hour

Step 3Pre heat oven to 350 Line a baking pan with parchment paper Roll dough into golf ball size pieces Press the top of the ball down just a little and sprinkle lightly with sea salt and bake for 10-15 minutes
