I came from a large Italian family. Every holiday we get together and make these. Kids love to help out and the best part about them is if put in an airtight container they last for weeks.

How to Make S. Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350
    Mix the flour sugar baking powder and margine together.
  2. beat the eggs together and add the vanilla and a small splash of milk. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture.
  3. Roll dough between you hands to make it round tube like. Shape into S's Bake on the bottom rack 8 min, then move to the top rack for 3. should be light in color but cooked thru. make sure not to burn the bottoms. cooking time will depend on the size of your S's
  4. you can frost with any kind of frosting you like. We make a simple glaze from powdered sugar, butter and milk. You can also use sprikles, nuts, coconut,or chocolate on the top whatever you like.
