These are the perfect tea cookie and great for gift giving. I used to include them in my Christmas baking to give as gifts. I haven't baked for gifts in years. I may have to do that again now that I found some of my old cookie recipes! Hope you enjoy!

Note: The long prep time is due to chilling the dough before baking. Minus the chill time, these are super fast and easy to make.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 c
soft butter
1/2 c
sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp
vanilla
2 1/4 c
flour
1/4 tsp
salt
3/4 c
finely chopped nuts

How to Make Russian Tea Cakes

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix sugar, butter and vanilla thoroughly. Blend flour and salt in seperate bowl. Add to creamed mixture. Mix in nuts. Chill.
  • 2When dough is cold, roll into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool. Roll in powdered sugar again.
