These are the perfect tea cookie and great for gift giving. I used to include them in my Christmas baking to give as gifts. I haven't baked for gifts in years. I may have to do that again now that I found some of my old cookie recipes! Hope you enjoy! Note: The long prep time is due to chilling the dough before baking. Minus the chill time, these are super fast and easy to make.

Makes approx. 4 dozen.
Ingredients
- 1 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
How To Make russian tea cakes

Step 1Mix sugar, butter and vanilla thoroughly. Blend flour and salt in seperate bowl. Add to creamed mixture. Mix in nuts. Chill.

Step 2When dough is cold, roll into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool. Roll in powdered sugar again.
