My family @ friends can't get enough of these cookies at Christmas. This recipe has been handed down from my grandmother and from her mother.

Ingredients

eggs
1 c
sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp
butter, melted
1 Tbsp
brandy liqueir
1/2 tsp
salt
3 c
all-purpose flour
2''
salad oil to deep fry
powdered sugar

How to Make Russian Christmas cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix eggs with sugar. Add melted butter,brandy,salt,2 cups flour and mix. Stir in enough additional flour to make stiff dough. Wrap in waxed paper refrigerate 1 hour or longer.
  • 2Heat about 2" oil to 365* in deep fryer.
  • 3On lightly floured surface roll dough paper-thin. Cut into 3" long diamonds. Make slit in center of each diamond pull one corner through slit.
  • 4Fry until golden brown. Cool on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy
