My family @ friends can't get enough of these cookies at Christmas. This recipe has been handed down from my grandmother and from her mother.

Ingredients For russian christmas cookies

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp
    brandy liqueir
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 3 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2''
    salad oil to deep fry
  • powdered sugar

How To Make russian christmas cookies

    Mix eggs with sugar. Add melted butter,brandy,salt,2 cups flour and mix. Stir in enough additional flour to make stiff dough. Wrap in waxed paper refrigerate 1 hour or longer.

    Heat about 2" oil to 365* in deep fryer.

    On lightly floured surface roll dough paper-thin. Cut into 3" long diamonds. Make slit in center of each diamond pull one corner through slit.

    Fry until golden brown. Cool on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy
