roni's cranberry-white chocolate oatmeal cookies

I have checked out different cranberry-white chocolate cookie recipes and haven't found one I liked, so I took my Granny's Oatmeal-Raisin Cookie recipe and used cranberrys and white chocolate morsels instead of the raisins. My friends love them!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter-flavored crisco
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
- 3 cups oats, quick cooking
- 2/3 cup dried cranberries
- 2/3 cup vanilla or white chocolate chips

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Combine eggs, crisco, white and brown sugars and vanilla with an electric mixer at medium speed until well blended.

Step 3In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Slowly add to creamed mixture and stir with a wooden spoon. Add oats; stir. Add cranberries and chocolate chips and stir again. Roll into walnut-sized balls, coat with white sugar and flatten slightly with a fork.

Step 4Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes or until slightly brown around the edges. Cool on cookie sheet for 1/2 minute. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
