This is a great base cookie for any holiday themed cookie

Ingredients

  • 2 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract

How to Make Roll-Out Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 370*.
  2. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and extracts. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition. Do not chill dough.
  4. Divide dough into 2 balls. On floured surface, roll each ball into a circle approximately 12" diameter and 1/8" thick. Dip cookie cutter in flour before each use.
  5. Bake cookies on parchment paper lined sheets 6-7 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
