This is another lost recipe that I'm so grateful to have found. It was published in 1999 in a church cookbook and I recently found the cookbook.

uncooked oatmeal
2 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 c
malted milk powder
1/2 tsp
each: cinnamon, ground ginger, baking soda
1/4 tsp
each: ground cloves, nutmeg, salt
3/4 c
firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c
granulated sugar
1 c
butter, softened
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 large
1 c
raisins, chopped
1 c
miniature chocolate chips
1 c
miniature marshmallows
1/2 c
pecans, coarsely chopped

How to Make Rocky Road Oatmeal Cookies


  • 1Lightly grease cookie sheets.
  • 2Combine dry ingredients; mix well and set aside.
  • 3Beat sugars, butter, vanilla and egg until smooth.
  • 4Gradually add dry ingredients; blend.
  • 5Fold in raisins, chocolate, marshmallows and nuts.
  • 6Form rounded balls of dough from a tablespoon.
  • 7Place each ball 1-1/2" apart onto prepared cookie sheets.
  • 8Bake 14 minutes (for chewy cookie) or 17 minutes (for crispy cookies)
  • 9Remove from oven and let cool on sheet for 1 minute.
  • 10Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
