This recipe came from our Auntie Ode. She was really Gramma Bea's aunt but we still called her auntie. She got this recipe out of a very old cookbook from Sleepy Eye, MN.

How To Make
Boil the raisins in 1 1/2 c water for 5 min. Let cool and drain.
Cream brown sugar and shortening, then add the eggs and vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 min. These are a soft spicy cookie.
