My Nona made these every Christmas and now I make them with my 3 girls there the house favorites. hope you all like them as much as my family.

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 bottle anise extract.... use more or less for your taste
1 - egg
2 cups flour
1/2 pound ricotta cheese
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch salt
FROSTING
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
- candy sprinkles

How To Make ricotta cookies

Step 1

Mix flour baking soda, baking powder and salt together in seperate bowl. In a mixer cream butter, sugar, anise extract add egg beat well add ricotta. Slowly add dry mix till blened

Step 2

Drop mix by tsp on baking sheet cook for 12-14 min they should be a pale in color Do Not over cook. cool on a wire rack
Step 3

Frosting.......Mix together sugar and milk. It should be loose... brush the frosting on cooled cookies and add sprinkles. Enjoy
