these are really easy and good cookies.I used to make red and green ones at christmas but Kelloggs quit selling the red and green rice krispies.I take them on a lot of our Senior citizen trips at church and everyone loves them. Have a blesssed day.Pat McCurry

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening(butter flavored crisco the best)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar(packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 2 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup coconut, flaked
  • 4 cups rice krispies

How To Make rice flake crisps

  • Step 1
    cream sugars and shortening,then add eggs and vanilla.beat well.
  • Step 2
    sift dry ingredients and add to mixture and beat well.fold in coconut and rice krispies.shape into one inch balls or drop by teaspoon(I do this)
  • Step 3
    place on ungreased cookie sheets.bake 10 too 12 minutes at 375 degrees.makes 8 dozen. store in airtight containers. better after two or three days(They are good at first also. Enjoy!
