these are really easy and good cookies.I used to make red and green ones at christmas but Kelloggs quit selling the red and green rice krispies.I take them on a lot of our Senior citizen trips at church and everyone loves them. Have a blesssed day.Pat McCurry

shortening(butter flavored crisco the best)
1 c
white sugar
1 c
light brown sugar(packed)
2 large
1 tsp
vanilla flavoring
2 c
sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
1 tsp
baking soda
1 c
coconut, flaked
4 c
rice krispies

How to Make Rice Flake Crisps


  • 1cream sugars and shortening,then add eggs and vanilla.beat well.
  • 2sift dry ingredients and add to mixture and beat well.fold in coconut and rice krispies.shape into one inch balls or drop by teaspoon(I do this)
  • 3place on ungreased cookie sheets.bake 10 too 12 minutes at 375 degrees.makes 8 dozen. store in airtight containers. better after two or three days(They are good at first also. Enjoy!
