these are really easy and good cookies.I used to make red and green ones at christmas but Kelloggs quit selling the red and green rice krispies.I take them on a lot of our Senior citizen trips at church and everyone loves them. Have a blesssed day.Pat McCurry

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    shortening(butter flavored crisco the best)
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar(packed)
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla flavoring
  • 2 c
    sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    coconut, flaked
  • 4 c
    rice krispies

How to Make Rice Flake Crisps

Step-by-Step

  1. cream sugars and shortening,then add eggs and vanilla.beat well.
  2. sift dry ingredients and add to mixture and beat well.fold in coconut and rice krispies.shape into one inch balls or drop by teaspoon(I do this)
  3. place on ungreased cookie sheets.bake 10 too 12 minutes at 375 degrees.makes 8 dozen. store in airtight containers. better after two or three days(They are good at first also. Enjoy!
