Ingredients

2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 - eggs
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup chopped nuts

How To Make real orange cookies

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400. Grease cookie sheets. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda; set aside. Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, and rind. Mix in flour mixture alternately with orange juice. Add nuts, mix.

Step 2

Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2" apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
