raspberry bars
(1 RATING)
I've been making these bars for over 30 years...It's the kind of recipe that's quick and more often than not, the one I went to when I didn't have alot of ingredients on hand!

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup margarine, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups oatmeal, uncooked
- 1-10 oz. jar red raspberry preserves
How To Make raspberry bars
-
Step 1Cream margarine and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Step 2Add combined dry ingredients; mix well.
-
Step 3PRESS half of crumb mixture in GREASED 9 x 13 pan.
-
Step 4Spread with preserves...you can use 1 1/4 cups of homemade preserves also...use whatever you want to use up! I stir the preserves in a small bowl to make sure they are easily spread over the crumb mixture.
-
Step 5Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over the top and press lightly.
-
Step 6Bake at 400 degrees 20-25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
