raisin filled cookies

Received this recipe from my Grandma one of the first her and I made together. When making these she didn't use a mixer but I do.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- FILLING MIXTURE
- 1 cup seedless raisins
- 1/2 cup water or orange juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
How To Make raisin filled cookies

Step 1Directions for filling mixture: Combine all ingredients and cook. Stirring over medium heat until thick. Cool before using.

Step 2Blend sugar, butter and eggs until smooth.

Step 3Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together, alternate with the milk.

Step 4Mix thoroughly and roll out thinly on floured board cut into rounds with a 3" cookie cutter. I take my thumb and make an indent. Put 1 teas filling on each cookie and place another round on top. Crimp edges together. Make small vents.

Step 5Bake in 375 degree oven about 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
