I love this recipe so versatile. You can try other ingredients, but I love the taste of raisins and cinnamon. This recipe will taste good with either unsalted or salted butter. In fact with this batch I used unsalted butter.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup raisins

How To Make raisin drop cookies

  • Step 1
    In a mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium high for about 30 seconds.
  • Step 2
    Add about half of the flour,then the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat till thoroughly combined.
  • Step 3
    Beat in remaining flour. Stir in the one cup of raisins.
  • Step 4
    Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step 5
    Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till edges are golden brown.
  • Step 6
    Remove cookies immediately from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack.
  • Step 7
    Recipe makes between 24 to 30 cookies.
