I love this recipe so versatile. You can try other ingredients, but I love the taste of raisins and cinnamon. This recipe will taste good with either unsalted or salted butter. In fact with this batch I used unsalted butter.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 c
    raisins

How to Make Raisin Drop Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium high for about 30 seconds.
  2. Add about half of the flour,then the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat till thoroughly combined.
  3. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in the one cup of raisins.
  4. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till edges are golden brown.
  6. Remove cookies immediately from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack.
  7. Recipe makes between 24 to 30 cookies.
