This recipe whips up in no time. The basic recipe you can use other ingredients like raisins, coconut, or pecans, but I chose rainbow colored sprinkles. So it really makes a pretty cookie.

1/4 c
1 c
all-purpose flour
3/4 c
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
almond extract
1/8 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
multi-colored sprinkles

How to Make Rainbow Sugar Drop Cookies


  • 1Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

    In a mixing bowl beat shortening and margarine together with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.
  • 2Add about half of the flour, the sugar, egg, flavorings, and baking soda. Beat till thoroughly combined.
  • 3Beat in remaining flour. Stir in multi-colored sprinkles.
  • 4Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 7 to 8 minutes. (DO NOT OVERCOOK)
  • 5Cool cookies on cookie sheet for 1 minute, then remove cookies and cool on a wire rack. Makes about 24.
