Thank you Shirlie Ingram for finding this recipe for me. It means so much. In our home, we always doubled the choclate chips, and sometimes added finely chopped walnuts. Been a family favorite for over 50 years.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup soft butter or margerine
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon water, warm
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup quaker oats
- 1 - 6 ounces bag chocolate chips

Step 1Sift together flour, salt, and soda, set aside.

Step 2Blend butter, sugars, vanilla and water.

Step 3Beat in egg; add in flour mix, mix well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Step 4Drop by teasp on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 50 cookies.

Step 5Remove from cookies sheet and cool completely. Store in air tight container.
