Lots of steps but really came out well. Not sure the origination of the recipe. You can substitute margarine for butter

Ingredients

  • CRUST
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • FILLING
  • 2 cans 15 oz pumpkin
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 can chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

How To Make pumpkin pie squares

  • Step 1
    Combine the crust ingredients until crumbly; press into a greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 2
    beat filling ingredients in a mixing bowl until smooth; pour over crust. Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Combine brown sugar, pecans/walnuts and butter; sprinkle over top. Bake 15-20 minutes longer or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Step 4
    Cool. Store in the refrigerator.
