pumpkin cookies w/frosting
Made these the first time for a co-worker of my husband who asked him if I would make them. To my surprise they were really good. Nice around Thanksgiving when you have an extra can of pumpkin you want to use up.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup cooked or canned pumpkin (never tried cooked)
- 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
- 1/2 cup dates or raisins chopped (i use raisins)

- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make pumpkin cookies w/frosting

Step 1Sift flour and baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Cream butter and sugar together. Add pumpkin and egg, beat well. Add flour mix all at once. Stir to obtain a smooth batter, add nut, fruits and vanilla.

Step 2Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.

Step 3FROSTING: Combine butter, milk and brown sugar in saucepan. Heat to boiling and boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in confectioners sugar and vanilla. Best when frosted.
