I remember eating these wonderful cookies when Mom baked them when I was little. The brown sugar frosting is incredible too!

Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup pumpkin, canned
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup powdered sugar

Step 1Mix shortening, sugar, egg, pumpkin, vanilla, flour, powder, soda, cinnamon and salt. Bake at 350 degrees 12-15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool. Heat brown sugar, milk and butter to boiling, boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on cooled cookies.
