I didn't all then right ingredients for this cookie so I thought crushed pretzels would be a good substitution. Would be good also if a nut allergy was keeping nuts out of a recipe. It gives a nice crunch

Ingredients

1 c
margarine
1 c
vegetable oil
1 c
white sugar
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1
egg
1 c
rice crispies
1 c
coconut
1 c
crushed pretzels ( little pretzel sticks)
1 c
oats (quick)
3 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
vanilla
1 tsp
cream of tartar
1 tsp
baking soda

How to Make pretzel cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream sugars,margarine and oil. Add egg and vanilla and cream until light and fluffy.
  • 2Combine the flour, salt, soda and cream of tarter.
    Add the rest of ingredients and mix.
  • 3Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and blend well.
  • 4Chill for at least 1 hour.
  • 5Roll into balls and press down with a
    glass dipped in sugar.
    Bake at 350 deg. F 10 to 5 min.
