I didn't all then right ingredients for this cookie so I thought crushed pretzels would be a good substitution. Would be good also if a nut allergy was keeping nuts out of a recipe. It gives a nice crunch

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 cup rice crispies
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels ( little pretzel sticks)
  • 1 cup oats (quick)
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

How To Make pretzel cookies

  • Step 1
    Cream sugars,margarine and oil. Add egg and vanilla and cream until light and fluffy.
  • Step 2
    Combine the flour, salt, soda and cream of tarter. Add the rest of ingredients and mix.
  • Step 3
    Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and blend well.
  • Step 4
    Chill for at least 1 hour.
  • Step 5
    Roll into balls and press down with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 deg. F 10 to 5 min.
