these cookies are always anticipated every fall in our house we have a persimmon tree in our front yard and we know when its time for cookies!!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup wild persimmon pulp
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2-3/4 cup chopped wild hickory nuts (or you can use pecans)
How To Make persimmon cookies

Step 1Preheat oven 350 degrees Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl, place on a greased cookie sheet in spoonfulls, bake 15 to 20 min dont over bake !! Enjoy!

Step 2I use a cone shaped colander and wood pestle to remove the pulp from the persimmons.
