Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • FILLING INGREDIENTS
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1.5 cups light or dark corn syrup
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups chopped pecans

How To Make pecan squares

  • Step 1
    CRUST: In a large mixing bowl, blend together flour, sugar, butter and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Step 2
    Press firmly and evenly into a greased 15x10x1 baking pan.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Meanwhile, in another bowl, combine eggs, syrup, sugar, butter and vanilla.
  • Step 5
    Stir in pecans.
  • Step 6
    Spread evenly over hot crust.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until set.
  • Step 8
    Cool on a wire rack.
