Grandpa Burris used to love Pecan Sandies, and he constantly tried to hide them from my sister and I...without success, I should add. Those store bought cookies have nothing on making them from scratch! I just wish he was still around to eat them.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup pecans, finely chopped

Step 1Cream butter and sugar. Add water and vanilla and mix well. Add flour and pecans. Chill 3-4 hours, shape into balls. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes, roll in powdered sugar.
