This has been a favorite recipe of friends, family, co-workers and church members for years. It is quicker and easier than baking a pecan pie; not to mention, it serves a lot more people. The ingredients are readily available from the local grocery store.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsifted plain flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup cold butter (do not substitute margarine)
  • 1-14 oz can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1-6oz package heath almond brickle chips
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

How To Make pecan pie bars

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for glass dish). In medium bowl, combine four and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press firmly on bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
    While bottom layer is baking, in medium bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla. Stir in chips and pecans. Spread evenly over crust.
  • Step 3
    Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. Cut into bars. Store covered in refrigerator.
