Oh my goodness. Another pecan pie recipe with a twist. I haven't met anyone who didn't snathch these up as soon as we set them out ... unless they're pecan haters and what's up with that??

Ingredients

CRUST

2 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 c
cold butter or margarine, cut into pieces
1/2 c
sugar
1/2 tsp
salt

FILLING

4 large
eggs
1 1/2 c
karo syrup
1 1/2 c
sugar
3 Tbsp
butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
2 1/2 c
pecans, chopped

How to Make Pecan Pie Bars

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2For the crust: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add flour and salt. Beat at medium speed until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press firmly into a 15x10 inch greased pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 3For the filling: In a large bowl, beat the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans and pour over crust. Spread evenly.
  • 4Bake for 25 minutes or until filling is firm around the edges. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
