This is a mash-up of several peanut butter cookie recipes (following several tasty experiments) with the spices and the sugar coating added as a twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (mostly melted)
  • 1 cup creamy 100% peanut butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 - egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • - granulated white sugar for rolling

How To Make peanut butter sugar cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
    Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars together in a large bowl.
  • Step 3
    Beat in eggs, egg yolks, honey and vanilla.
  • Step 4
    In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Step 5
    Gradually add the dry mixture to butter/sugar/egg mixture and mix on low speed.
  • Step 6
    Roll cookie dough into 1 inch balls and roll balls in granulated sugar.
  • Step 7
    Place balls on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper, and flatten each ball with a fork, making a crisscross pattern.
  • Step 8
    Bake in preheated oven for about 9 minutes. Cookies should be golden.
