Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup peanut butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ICING
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 2/3 cup peanut butter
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
How To Make peanut butter squares

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, cream sugars, shortening and peanut butter.

Step 2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 3Add water and vanilla; mix well.

Step 4Combine the dry ingredients and then mix wet and dry ingredients until combined.

Step 5Pour into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1in. baking pan.

Step 6Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

Step 7In a small mixing bowl, beat the icing ingredients until smooth. Pour over warm bars. Cool.
