Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 11/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make peanut butter cookies

  • Step 1
    In a mixing bowl beat margarine and peanut butter with a mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add 1/2 cup of the flour, the sugars, egg, baking soda, baking powder, and vanilla.
  • Step 2
    Beat till thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. If necessary, cover and chill dough till easy to handle.
  • Step 3
    Shape dough in 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten by crisscrossing with tines of a fork. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 7 to 9 minutes or till bottoms are lightly brown. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
