  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter;crunchy or creamy
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c
  • 1
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 48
    candy kisses, unwrapped

How to Make Peanut Butter and Kisses


  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together butter or margarine, peanut butter, brown sugar, 1/4c sugar, egg, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy.
  3. Add flour and baking soda to mixture; beating until thoroughly blended.
  4. Shape dough into 24 balls if you use a heaping tablespoon or 48 balls if you use a heaping teaspoon.
  5. Roll balls in 3T of granulated sugar until coated. Place 1/2 to 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet (I prefer baking stones, make sure it is made in USA to avoid lead issues.)
  6. Bake at 375F for 8-10 minutes or until light golden. Immediately top each cookie with a candy kiss, carefully pressing down firmly.
  7. Remove cookies from baking sheets; cool on racks.
