How To Make peanut butter and jelly squares
-
Step 1Oven to 325 degrees. Lightly butter 9x13. combine flour and powder, set aside. On med speed, mix butter and sugar to form a grainy paste. Add egg and vanilla and mix smooth. Scrape bowl. Add flour mixture and blend thoroughly. Mixture will be firm. Divide dough into two pieces, wrap in plastic wrap or ito plastic bag and refrigerate 1 hour. Roll each piece to 9x13 and about 1/4 inch thick. Place one piece on the bottom and partially up the sides of the pan. Refrigerate 10 min more. Spread half the jelly on the dough, layer with peanut butter then remaining jelly. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Put remaining dough on top and pinch sides together. Bake 35-40 min or until golden brown and firm to the touch in the center. Cool in pan then cut into squares and serve. Made Feb 14, 1995, they didn't last long! I used grape jelly, but would also like it if I used strawberry!
