This is another favorite recipe from close friend, Deb Poulson, who used to make these for my brother as a Christmas present every year. This was ONE of the most used recipes that my mom and niece used to make whenever my niece came to visit "Grammie".

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter, creamy
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 - egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make peanut blossom cookies

Step 1

Sift flour, soda, and salt together. Then cream together butter and peanut butter. Gradually add both sugars. Creaming well, add: egg and vanilla. Beat well. Then blend in dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Shape dough into balls using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degree oven for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place a solid milk chocolate candy kiss or star on top, pressing down so cookie cracks. Return to oven and bake 2-5 minutes longer or until golden brown.
