patriotic pretzel cookies
What is not to like about sweet and salty all in one bite - if you can find the red, white and blue M&M's that would be the perfect call - I could however not find them - so we used what we could find - they came out nice and chewy and get had a great crunch - love the combo - salt and sweet

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (room temp)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 2 - eggs (room temp)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups mini pretzels (crushed)
- 1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
- 1 1/2 cups milk or dark chocolate m&m's
How To Make patriotic pretzel cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Combine sugar's and butter whip till fluffy - add eggs one at a time and combine completely before adding the next one - scraping the side of the bowl as you go - add vanilla.

Step 3In separate bowl sift together your dry ingredients. Gradually add the wet and dry ingredients - by the time you have added the coconut - pretzels you will need to resort to using a good scarper to mix - it gets a little tough to do with a mixer.......final step incorporate the M&M's - place in fridge for 30 minutes.

Step 4Using a teaspoon or tablespoon (depending on the end result you are looking for)drop cookies on to cookie sheets lined with parchment paper and bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool....these freeze very well.
