I make cookies every month for a the winner of a silent auction. The auction item is 2 dozen cookies the first of each month. I was challenged by the 4th of July. I didn't know what I was going to bake. So I took a good recipe I had and change the ingredients to fit my idea of a theme cookie. These turned out great for me.

2 c
butter, room temperature
3 c
granulated sugar
eggs, room temp
2 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda
1 Tbsp
vanilla extract
5 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 pkg
dried blueberries
1 pkg
dried cherries (tart)
1 pkg
vanilla or white chocolate chips

How to Make Patriotic Chip Cookies


  • 1In a large bowl: Cream butter,add sugar mix well scrap down sides of bowl.
  • 2Add eggs 1 at a time mixing well after each addition.Scrape down sides of bowl again.
  • 3Add both baking powder & soda, & vanilla mix well.
  • 4Then add flour, scoop,& level 1 cup at a time mix well.
  • 5Mix in dried fruits and Vanilla chips.
  • 6Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a baking sheet. I use parchement paper for no sticking and easy clean up. bake @ 350 degrees for 10-12 min until golden brown. Mmmmmm!
