I found the recipe among my old recipes. I remember my daughter and I making these in the early 60's. She was just a little girl. I had written it in ink on a note pad. It was so faded and dim I almost could not read it. Thanks Noni from Hot springs for reminding me before it had indeed faded away..

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    butter, softened or shortening
  • 1/3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp
    water
  • 2
    eggs
  • 12 oz
    pkg of nestles simi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 c
    nuts

How to Make Original Toll House Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. Combine butter or shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla,& water. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs.
  4. Add flour mixture. Mix well. Stir in Nestle's Semi-sweet Chocolate Morsels and nuts.
  5. Drop by well rounded half teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
