original toll house chocolate chip cookie

Ingredients
- COMBINE:
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- BEAT:
- 1 cup marg. or butter, softened ( 2 sticks)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 - eggs (add one at a time)
- STIR IN:
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
- NOTE: IF OMITTING NUTS, ADD 2 T. OF ALL PURPOSE FLOUR TO MIXTURE.

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine first three ingredients.

Step 2Beat next five ingredients. Gradually add flour mixture.

Step 3Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (optional)

Step 4Drop by rounded Tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake.
