Cant remember where I found this recipe, have made them since I was Fifteen, but It Is a favorite of mine now and I can add Different Ingredients to the recipe like chocolate chips or change the flavoring to peppermint for Christmas, as I did in can Add sprinkles or colored sugars,crushed peppermint candies on top depending on the holiday, Just roll them into balls Instead if using chocolate chips in dough and use a fork to make crisscrosses on top, then sprinkle with desired topping.

  • 1/2 tsp

  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    sifted flour
  • 3 tsp
    baking soda
  • sugar cinnamon mixture

    Cream sugar, butter, salt,add egg and beat until light and fluffy. stir in milk and vanilla. Add dry Ingredients to creamed mixture. Chill 1 Hour. Roll dough on floured board. cut. Bake 8-10 mins. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Cool on racks so they crisp.* When making peppermint cookies I just rolled the dough into balls and pressed top with a fork into crisscrosses, then add sprinkles, colored sugars or peppermint candies crushed. Great for xmas.
