orange walnut cookies

These are one of my family's favorite cookies, and mine as well. I have been making these for over 20 yrs now and are still requested for all gatherings. The texture is delicate & delicious, and the orange flavoring makes these scrumptious. Once you try them, they just might be one of yours too.. They will melt in your mouth! A hot cup of tea goes great with them. You can even custom them by adding some of your favorite ingredients! I personally like them just the way they are....

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powered sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup margerine
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 - eggs beaten
  • 2 teaspoons orange extract
  • 2 teaspoons orange peel
  • 4 1/2 cups flour, plus 2 tbsp
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make orange walnut cookies

  • Step 1
    In large bowl, add margerine, powdered sugar, white sugar, vegetable oil, orange flavoring, beaten eggs, orange peel, and nuts. Mix well.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt. Add dry ingredients into wet mixture, mix well. Chill dough for several hours.
  • Step 3
    I use a cookie scoop to make cookies, then roll into balls, press down gently to flaten. Bake @ 370 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes, just until light brown. Do not over bake! This is a large recipe and can be cut in half if desired. Cookies are delicate and delicious...ENJOY!
