I usually make these around the holidays.

After about 6 minutes cooking, start checking in on them every two minutes or so. They go from perfect to burned very quickly.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated orange zest
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Orange Spritz Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350*. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add egg, orange juice and zest, and vanilla to butter mixture. Add flour mixture, mix well.
  3. Fill cookie press with dough and fit with desired disks; press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack and cool completely.
