baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt
1 tsp
grated orange peel
1 c
sugar
1/2 c
light brown sugar - firmly packed
1 c
butter, softened
2 large
eggs
1 tsp
orange extract
1 1/2 c
semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

How to Make Orange Chocolate Chunk Cookies By Mrs. Fields

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • 2In a medium bowl combine flour, soda, salt and orange peel.
  • 3Mix well and set aside.
  • 4In a large bowl blend sugars with electric mixer at medium speed.
  • 5Add butter and beat to form a grainy paste, scraping sides of bowl as needed.
  • 6Add eggs and orange extract, and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
  • 7Add the flour mixture and chopped chocolate.
  • 8Blend on low speed just until mixed.
  • 9Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1 1/2 inches apart.
  • 10Bake for 22-24 minutes until cookies are slightly brown along the edges.
  • 11Transfer cookies immediately to a cool surface.
