Refrigerator cookies. Ollie was my precious grandmother and ALWAYS had them made up and the dough in the freezer waiting or us. I always called them "Ollie cookies"

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crisco butter flavored shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)

How To Make ollie cookies

  • Step 1
    Cream together shortening, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time and blend well. Add vanilla. Slowly add dry ingredients. Mixture will be extremely thick. Stir in pecans.
  • Step 2
    On wax paper roll dough into rolls about 2" in diameter and about 10" long. Freeze or if you are ready to bake slice into about 1/2 inch slices and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes (or until golden on edges) For a crunchier cookie bake a few minutes longer.
