old-fashioned sugar cookies (publix bag of sugar)
I found this recipe on a bag of Publix Supermarket brand sugar. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I plan to do so soon.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened ( 1 stick)
- 1 - egg (large)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- OTHER ITEMS:
- - cooking spray
- - sugar, sprinles or candy decorations. (optional)
How To Make old-fashioned sugar cookies (publix bag of sugar)

Step 1Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing well.

Step 2Combine sugar and butter in large bowl, using an electric mixer on high speed, until well mixed.

Step 3Add egg and vanilla; mix well.

Step 4Add flour mixture; mix well.

Step 5Chill 2 hours until firm.

Step 6Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 7Shape chilled dough into two (6 X 1 1/2 - inch) rolls. Cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices and place on lightly greased baking sheet.

Step 8Sprinkle lightly with sugar or decoration, if using.

Step 9Bake 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool Completely. Makes 4 dozen.
