Ingredients
- 2 cups cups rolled oats
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup strawberry preserves
How To Make old fashioned strawberry oatmeal squares

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Grease a 13/9 inch baking pan.

Step 2Combine all ingredients except preserves in a large mixing bowl using your clean hands or a fork.Until it is crumbly.Do not over mix.

Step 3Press all but 2 cups in bottom of greased pan.Carefully spread preserves on top.Crumble remaining mixture on top of Strawberry preserves.

Step 4Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 25 minutes,until golden brown.Cut in to squares while still warm,then cool completely.For a nice touch sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
