So easy to put together.You could use another flavor of preserves if you like.Also you don't need eggs!

2 cups c
rolled oats
1 c
softened butter
1 3/4 c
all purpose flour
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 tsp
3/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
chopped walnuts
1 c
strawberry preserves

How to Make old fashioned strawberry oatmeal squares


  • 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Grease a 13/9 inch baking pan.
  • 2Combine all ingredients except preserves in a large mixing bowl using your clean hands or a fork.Until it is crumbly.Do not over mix.
  • 3Press all but 2 cups in bottom of greased pan.Carefully spread preserves on top.Crumble remaining mixture on top of Strawberry preserves.
  • 4Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 25 minutes,until golden brown.Cut in to squares while still warm,then cool completely.For a nice touch sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
