These puff up when baked. I always frost with thinned white frosting and decorate with decorating frosting.

Ingredients For old fashioned sour cream sugar cookies

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp
    mace
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 5 c
    flour

How To Make old fashioned sour cream sugar cookies

    Cream butter eggs and sugar together. Add sour cream, soda, and salt.

    Add flour and mace. Mix as soft as can handle'

    Chill 2 to 3 hours

    Roll out and cut with cookie cutters.

    Bake 12 to 15 mins on 400 to 425 degrees.
