Ingredients For old fashioned soft sugar cookies

2 c sugar

1 c shortening
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs, lightly beaten, plus milk to make 2 c.

1 tsp soda in 1/2 c milk

2 tsp baking powder

6 c flour
How To Make old fashioned soft sugar cookies

1Cream together shortening, sugar, salt, nutmeg and vanilla.

2Add liquid (1-1/2 c total) and stir well.

3Sift flour and baking powder, add and mix well.

4Roll out dough, half at a time, and cut with large cookie cutters. Top each cookie with several raisins or sprinkle with sugar.

5Bake at 350* F for 10 minutes.
