Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 c
    rolled oats
  • 1 1/4 c
    coarsely chopped and lightly toasted walnuts

How to Make Oatmeal Walnut Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. preheat oven to 375.
  2. lightly grease cookie sheets. combine first set of dry ingredients in a large bowl with a wire whisk.
  3. in a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugars. add egg and vanilla. combine completely.
  4. slowly add flour mixture until combined. hand stir in oats and walnuts.
  5. drop 2 tablespoons of dough onto prepared cookie sheets. bake for 12-14 minutes.
  6. take from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheets for 1-2 minutes.
  7. remove cookies to wire rack and cool completely before storing them in a cookie jar with a loose lid.
