oatmeal rocks
Every year at Christmas, my kids and I get together and we make baked goods to give to friends and family. Our only problem is this recipe is hard to have any left to send anywhere. It was given to me by my mother-in-law and I have made it every year since I received it. Actually make it alot through the year and during holidays too. Its an Oatmeal cookie that stays chewy and doesn't get hard.

How To Make oatmeal rocks
-
Step 1Cream shortening and sugar together till smooth and fluffy. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. And oats, raisins and nuts and stir together very well.
-
Step 2I use a small ice cream scoop to drop mine on to greased cookie sheets so they will cook evenly. Makes about 4 dozen depending on the size of cookie.
-
Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Just lightly golden brown. Don't overbake or cookies will be hard.
